Artist Statement
I create from inspiration, and I'm influenced by so many things wildlife, landscapes, travel, my intuition, soulful interactions, dance, and the unconventional, to name a few. When I paint or take pictures, I'm on a personal journey to uncover what speaks to me.
I have been on this journey over the past few years to discover inner peace, love and authenticity in life while portraying this through fine art. I am dedicated to connecting nature and the human experience, with a priority to always create a genuine representation of what I see and feel in the moment. Discovering the vast array of art in nature has been my outlet for healing and empowerment.
My artwork, encompassed over the past twenty years, has evolved from this discovery of art in nature. Through my own hardships, I have found healing in art--therapy in the awareness of the art process. Then extending out of this realization to other forms of art. And within the last seven years, I have embraced the art form of photography further applying an artistic eye.
The ranges of my work include: intuitive painting, collage, and photography. This includes the use of a variety of mediums such as acrylic paint, pastel, oil sticks, sumie style inks and watercolor techniques.
This journey has led me to so many inspiring human connections - enabling me to share my artistic experiences with others. Especially, I feel a connection with creative and positive people - inspired by their uplifting spirit. I am a suburban artist in Aurora, Illinois USA who participates in various creative meetup groups in Illinois, always learning and attending classes. Collaborating with local artists and photographers allows me to advance as an artist through their own unique perspectives and together further our artistic developments.
I am grateful that through my own struggles, I am able to find peace while taking photographs and walking in nature. My personal message is this - Embrace the darkness with kindness because without it, we would not be able to close our eyes and recognize the light from the space within.
My main goal is to inspire other individuals to follow their own inner calling and passions. I believe that through self-love and acceptance, your purpose in life can be ignited when you come to terms with the past and move forward on the path that is true to yourself.
